Communications and Health Analyst
Jade Johns-Gibson is a Communications & Health Analyst at EMI Advisors, where she supports client delivery on health-related projects and contributes to the firm’s internal and external communications initiatives. With a goal of increasing health literacy among laypersons with hopes of alleviating health inequity, Jade is passionate about bridging the gap between health information and the public. She brings a dynamic combination of expertise in health IT consulting, health sciences, and science writing to help EMI achieve its mission.
Before joining EMI Advisors, Jade gained extensive experience in healthcare and research through various roles. As a Healthcare IT Consultant at Oracle Cerner, she optimized EMR implementation and usability, improving client satisfaction and productivity. She also served as a Medical Scribe at Prince William Urology Associates and United Medical Center, ensuring accurate patient records and facilitating streamlined clinical workflows. As a Mental Health Advocate, Jade collaborated with healthcare professionals to educate clients and coordinate treatment plans, reflecting her commitment to addressing health inequities. Her undergraduate research on sickle cell disease and involvement in advocacy programs further highlights her dedication to health communication and community engagement.
Jade earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences from Spelman College, a certificate in Advanced Biomedical Sciences from Georgetown University, and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Science Writing from Johns Hopkins University. She is HIPAA certified and skilled in Python, Microsoft Office tools, and project management. Jade is a native and current resident of Washington, DC who enjoys traveling, fine dining, and spending time with family and friends.
