Kevin Xu, MS
Data Visualization Analyst
Kevin Xu is a data visualization analyst for EMI Advisors, where he transforms raw data into actionable business insights and utilizes concepts from graph theory and driver relationships to visualize complex relationships. Kevin applies his strong foundations in machine learning, data analysis, and statistical modeling to contribute to data visualization development.
Kevin’s passion for machine learning led to an internship with the ATOM consortium, a branch of the Frederick National Laboratory for cancer research, where he applied a new machine learning based pipeline to aid in computerized drug discovery through the Python programming language. This project involved chemical datasets containing over ten-thousand molecules. During the final stages he created visualizations of the data and presented the results and findings to the ATOM executives. Kevin’s undergraduate research work involved analyzing financial stock data in the form of multivariate time series data and applying a long-short-term-memory (LSTM) model to the data.
Kevin holds a master’s degree in data science from Columbia University, and a bachelor’s degree in applied statistics and data science from the College of William & Mary. After completing his Master’s he now resides in Ashburn, VA.
