Data Visualization Analyst


Sean Crawford is a Data Visualization Analyst at EMI Advisors, where he develops data-driven insights and visualizations to support healthcare and public sector initiatives. With expertise in data analysis, business intelligence, and instructional design, Sean applies analytical thinking and storytelling to transform complex datasets into actionable insights. He is passionate about using data to drive informed decision-making and improve operational efficiency.

Before joining EMI, Sean worked as an Instructional Designer at the University of Maryland’s Maryland Fire & Rescue Institute (MFRI), where he leveraged data analysis to evaluate training effectiveness, design interactive learning experiences, and optimize instructional strategies. Prior to that, he spent four years teaching middle school math and science in Montgomery County, Maryland, where he integrated data-driven approaches to track student progress, personalize instruction, and enhance learning outcomes. His experience in both education and analytics allows him to effectively translate complex data into meaningful narratives that support decision-making.

Sean holds a Master’s degree in Business Analytics from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business and a Master’s degree in Instructional Technology from the University of Maryland Global Campus. Before attaining his Master’s, he acquired a Bachelor’s degree in Middle School Math and Science Education from the University of Maryland, College Park. Outside of work he is an avid sports enthusiast. Sean coaches high school baseball and golf, and enjoys attending Orioles games.
